Meet The Team
Chair / Director
Kevin joined the Dilys Guite Players (DGP) as a front of house volunteer in 2010. He eventually got over his nerves and auditioned. That began a journey that has seen him perform in and direct many, varied, productions. He was asked to join the DGP Board in 2013 and to become the chair. He loves being part of the Lantern family and appreciates the value of creating a true community experience for everyone involved.
Alison joined the DGP in 2013. Alison's involvement in theatre extends over several years and she has achieved her LAMDA gold medal in acting. Alison leads the Creative Team as Creative Director and has been instrumental in creating a fair, effective method for actors, directors and writers to get their work on our stage and be supported during the creative process.
Treasurer / Planning Director
Annie joined the theatre group in 2010 and became a board member in 2013. She is the company Treasurer and also looks after the Business and Project Planning for the DGP and Lantern Theatre Limited. She also performs, directs and writes and regular appears in our Christmas productions. She is also a past member of Sheffield People’s Theatre and attended Carney Academy, for 3 years, studying acting and singing.
Damon has had a career in the visual arts since 2010 and is currently Deputy Curator at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. After getting married at the theatre in 2018, he later joined the board of the DGP as Director of Development with the passion to support the charity’s objectives and secure funding to keep it running for future generations. With a particular interest in supporting smaller, independent arts charities, Damon looks to broaden engagement and raise public awareness in the region about the historic importance of the building and its mission.
Harry trained in Technical Theatre Studies in Leicester, where he worked in such venues as the Century Theatre and Curve Studios. He moved to Sheffield in 2014, where he joined the DGP team as the Technical Director, with overall responsibility for the technical elements of all of our productions and the fantastic team that helps to bring them to life. As a board member, he is continuously pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve technically on stage and also looks after our safeguarding policies.
Lantern Theatre Limited
Keith is a longstanding, now Lifetime, member and served on the DGP Board until 2015. He is now part of the Lantern Theatre Limited board that operates the bar facilities on site. Keith was part of the group of members who built the bar area back in the 1980s. He has given many hours of voluntary time to the theatre over the years in a variety of ways and is heavily involved in the maintenance of the venue.
Phil has been with the DGP since 2013 and has been involved with many productions, both on stage and backstage. He ensures the property and grounds are maintained and manages visitors and contractors while on the property. His main creative contribution is his involvement in the building, or supervising, of most of the sets to create the environment within which the productions come to life.
Vivienne joined the DGP in 2014. She has written and directed for the New Writing Festival and acted in several plays including The Importance of Being Earnest, Blithe Spirit, Alice In Wonderland and our anniversary production of The Merry Wives Of Windsor. Vivienne is the Company Secretary and was a key player in updating our Articles of Association in 2019, bringing them up to date and in keeping with a modern charity.
