AUDITIONS: Machinal
A bold, stylised and intensely physical play about a young woman struggling against the life society has chosen for her.
Written in 1928 and inspired by a notorious murder trial, Machinal explores conformity, freedom, marriage and rebellion through nine striking episodes.
We’re looking for 7 performers for a range of roles, from Helen at the centre of the story to the multirole ensemble who create the many people and voices that surround her. The production combines scripted performance, non-realistic movement and a highly theatrical style.
Auditions will be relaxed and workshop-style, with no previous experience of this style required.
