One Act is an opportunity for writers to submit original plays running between 45 and 60 minutes for consideration as part of Lantern Creates '27.
We're looking for engaging stories, compelling characters and ideas that will connect with an audience in an intimate theatre setting. Whether you're developing your first full-length piece or have written for the stage before, we'd love to hear from you.

THEME
Free Choice
We're open to original work on any subject matter and welcome a wide range of genres, styles and theatrical approaches.

SELECTION PROCESS
Following the submission deadline, a shortlist of plays will be selected by the Festival team.
Shortlisted writers will then be invited to pitch their play as part of the selection process. Writers are welcome to bring a prospective director to the pitch if they wish, although this is not a requirement.
