Season Launch Charity Evening - September 4th 7:30pm
We are holding a Charity Evening of entertainment at the Lantern Theatre to launch our new season of shows. All proceeds from the evening will go towards the Lantern's Roof Appeal and the Meningitis Research Foundation.
Our new season is set to be an exciting and entertaining series of shows. We kick off with two plays of a distinctly Shakespeare flavour. Colin David Reese is touring internationally with Shakespeare Unbound - A Gift to the Future and has received much critical acclaim for a beautiful play about the young Will Shakespeare. Much Ado About Nothing is Shakespeare's much loved comedy and revolves around two pairs of lovers, Beatrice and Benedick and Claudio and Hero.
In November we have another charity evening in the form of The Bar-Steward Blues Brothers, performed by the Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican, raising money for the Roof Appeal. The night is guaranteed to be full of fun with great music from this lively and entertaining band. The chilling production of The Signalman performed by Found Theatre follows and is guaranteed to make your hair stand on end
Also in November we have the excellent Reform Theatre performing Thick as Thieves, a new comedy by Mark Whiteley that takes the audience into the comically dark underbelly of the world of small-time criminals.
Finally in December the Dilys Guite Players are back with Alan Ayckbourn’s imaginative Improbable Fiction, full of affectionate satire and sharp comedy.
So come and join us for a great evening of entertainment...it's all for a great cause! Tickets are just £3.00 and can be booked online here.
